Prepare yourself for a life-changing experience. You will complete your first solo skydive, with the assistance of two instructors in freefall, after a one-day ground course. AFF Stage 1 marks the beginning of the 9-stage AFF course that will take you closer to becoming a skilled skydiver, certified by the Australian Parachute Federation.  


What to expect:  

  • Day 1: We kick off with one full day of ground training. You will learn the theory and skills to safely perform your AFF skydives. This includes learning about the gear, parachute steering, emergency procedures, and everything else you need to know to prepare for your first jump.  

  • Day 2: On your first skydive, two instructors will assist you and keep you stable in freefall, but you will wear and fly your own parachute. After the jump, you will have a debrief and start incorporating learnings and tips in your logbook.  

  • This is just the beginning of your exciting skydiving journey. If you decide that skydiving is for you, then it is time for AFF Stage 2! After AFF Stage 1 all skydives follow the same routine: 15-minute brief, jump, debrief.  

  • You can continue your course at any of our 1300SKYDIVE dropzones offering AFF skydives.

Minimum requirements:  

  • Must be at least 16 years old. Students under 18 require written consent from a parent or guardian. No maximum age limit.  

  • Weight limit is 110kg.  

  • Basic fitness and good general health are required for safety. If you are unsure whether you meet minimum requirements contact us for an individual assessment.  

  • During the ground course all students are assessed on their knowledge and ability to perform freefall tasks and emergency procedures.
